Dancer/Choreographer Rachel Birch-Lawson and Musician/Composer Jack James founded Project Mashed Potato after several successful collaborations. Together they have created choreographed and improvised work performed at several venues in London and abroad. Both Rachel and Jack have a desire to explore collaboration in many forms, working with actors, artists, dancers, designers, and filmmakers - always pushing to promote creativity and artistic development.
Rachel Birch-LawsonRachel works as a freelance dance performer, choreographer and teacher. Trained at London Contemporary Dance School, she currently dances for double award winning green bean dance, choreographs and performs with Present State in association with Sankorfa Percussion Quartet and the Connecting Arts Orchestra, and recently completed an international tour with Opera a la Carte, choreographing and performing in Bizet's Carmen. She has also worked for Usanu Theatre, Royal Opera Company - Covent Garden and Kush Dance, choreographed and performed in music videos for MTV and taught for Youth Music Theatre UK. She is committed to creating work that engages and stimulates an audience, and forges links between different artistic disciplines. |

Jack JamesJack James has had a varied musical career as a guitarist and composer. He has performed live on BBC and Solar radio, and appeared on MTV. Experienced in Folk, Rock, Jazz, Soul and Hip Hop production, Jack crosses musical styles, performing with Delia Spears, Katie Love, Kyra Simone, and leads the Jack James Band. Jack has been involved in Contemporary Dance for several years, creating and producing music for performance and Contact Jams, and developing a distinctive approach to music for dance. Promoting the use of high quality, vibrant music for dance is a key artistic aim. |

Badis YousifBadis has a BSc Honours in Information Product Design from the University of Westminster. In addition to working for Project Mashed Potato as Visual Director Badis works freelance using his proficiency in 3D Studio Max, Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia Flash along with video editing and composition software. |

Jessica Rae DraderSince graduating in Music and Drama from The University of Manchester in 2007 Jessica has worked as an Assistant Director to Roxanna Silbert, Paines Plough ('Long Time Dead' at The Traverse, Edinburgh Festival 07), and to Tim Carroll ("The Rake's Progress" at The Royal College of Music). As well as directing and performing, Jessica is Project Mashed Potato's Creative Consultant. |

Jessie RoseJessie trained as a dancer before joining Zippos travelling circus school.
